Unite to Protect India’s Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity

20th June 2020 at 3:04 PM
Comrade D. Raja participated in the All-Party meeting
New Delhi: 20th June 2020: (The Comrade Screen Bureau)::
Communist Party of India General Secretary D. Raja participated in the All-Party meeting convened by the Prime Minister on June 192020 after being repeatedly demanded by CPI and other opposition parties.
Party General Secretary made the following points:
1.*  CPI appreciates the government for convening the All-Party Meeting even though it is late.
* Our Party salutes the martyred Soldiers and Officers who sacrificed their precious lives on June 15th.
* Every Indian is proud of our Defence Forces for their valour and dedication in defending the security and borders of our country. They are Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The whole country stands behind them.
2. Security and foreign policy positions of our country are evolved on the basis of national consensus. The government should take political parties, Parliament and people into confidence on all these matters.
3. India China Stand-off
§  Coming to the current stand-off between India and China, our Party is of the view that no compromise on sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country should be made.
§  Status quo at the Line of Actual Control should be respected and restored as it was till April 2020.
§  India and China are Asian countries which claimed to stand for Asian Century.
§  Right now the relations between our country and the neighbouring countries, Pakistan and Nepal, remain hostile. We have problems with Sri Lanka also.
§  In such a situation, the US tries to drag India into a kind of military alliance to establish its own influence in our region. The Government must be cautious about this.
§  India having good neighbourhood relations becomes crucial for national stability and well-being. It means India should evolve a proper South Asian Policy.
§  The immediate task is to intensify negotiations at the highest level to resolve the boundary disputes between India and China. It will ensure peace and stability. Both the countries should respect “the importance of respecting each other’s sensitivities, concerns and aspirations” as outlined in the Joint Statement issued after the first Summit between Indian Prime Minister and Chinese Leader.
§  The political parties in India should stand together in defence of our sovereignty and territorial integrity. The whole country should stand as one.
§  CPI stands for such unity.

Reactions: Punjab CPI Condemn Pro-Khalistani Statements

9th June 2020 at 5:12 PM
Statements were given by Akal Takhat and the SGPC chiefs
Chandigarh: 9th June 2020: (Punjab Screen Bureau)::
Com. Bant Singh Brar, Secretary Punjab State Council of CPI, reacting on the statements given by Giani Harpreet Singh Working Jathedar of Akal Takhat, the highest temporal seat of Sikhs, and S. Gobind Singh Longowal, the President of Sharomani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the elected body of the Sikhs to run the vast number of Gurdwaras, condemned the Pro-Khalistani tone and message given by them and strongly criticised the silence kept by Akali Dal leaders, including S. Parkash Singh Badal, former many times Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal, the President of Sharomani Akali Dal and Harsimarat Kaur Badal, the Cabinet Minister in Modi Govt.
Com. Brar said that the extremist elements, who were lying in sleep, used the occasion to raise their demand through the above said religious leaders, as their earlier attempts to incite the Sikhs in name of Referendum 2020 had been rejected by Punjabi people. Now again they used the anniversary date of Indian Army attack on Sikh Shrine in 1984 and the above mentioned both leaders who are appointed by ruling Akali Dal of Sh. Badal with their commanding majority in Sikh institutions, played with fire by supporting extremist demands.
Com. Brar said the attack on Golden Temple was very unfortunate incident which could have been averted if the Central Govt at that time (led by Smt. Indira Gandhi) had acted wisely keeping in view the strong resentment it could cause in Sikh masses. He said that neither Sharomani Akali Dal and SGPC and nor the extremist elements who had captured the  Gurdwara and killed thousands of innocent people can escape from the responsibility of  tragic happenings.
Com. Brar said that the statements of Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and SAD President S. Longowal have said that there is no objection on raising slogans of Khalistan, that every Sikh wants Khalistan, that if central Govt gives Khalistan we will welcome it, etc. He said that Punjabis had won peace in Punjab after thousands of sacrifices including communists and that they will not let the nefarious designs extremists of succeed.
Com. Brar strongly condemned the silence of Modi Govt which is always ready to enforce ‘antinational’ and ‘Rashtra-dhroh’ charges on struggling masses and leaders.
Com. Brar appealed to Punjabis not to fall prey to these inciting statements and maintain peace and harmony in the state.

Our claim as a working class party lost

Why we had lost the ruling of West Bengal?

163. WEST BENGAL Comrades. My dear Comrades. Why such a stage got us; when we have the history of 34 years ruling in West Bengal? Why we had lost the ruling of West Bengal? Do you know the position of our party before TMC came in power? Once we had 172 MLAs for CPM alone. Was it with the support of Congress? Why WB peoples are reluctant to vote us? They don't feels our party must come in power. Why? Is it due to TMC? Com SM said; if LDF is return; TATA will start Car factory. It means? We had nothing learned from the history. Can we say the entire votes got by TMC is only on violence and by booth capturing? What was our old mathematics? The difference between LDF and TMC were very little and we can overcome with the support of Congress. Is it right? What happened? Congress men not voted for CPM; while our comrades voted for Congress. (2) Bourgeois will not allow a Communist party to be in power because we have a RED FLAG. Though WB comrades don't know its value; bourgeois knew about it. Marx said there should be "proletarian dictatorship" because bourgeois will not allow to destroy their existence and what they enjoying now. ..... Due you know the history of CPI and SA Dange? Please see my blog No. 140. (Posted today) Can we say the National Council Members of old CPI were very clever peoples? Only 31 Comrades including Com. Jyoti Basu came out from old National Council out of 101 members. There were 70 numbers was with Dange. But CPI could not over come their poor stage. Even from the history of SA Dange and CPI; our (some) comrades are not ready to understand what will be the result when we deciding to share with Congress. They are trying to make CPM only a petty bourgeois party like RSP; etc.................I think; you knew; the Communist movement of India; under the leadership of SA Dange; since 1950s; postponed socialism and decided to promote Indian capitalism. During 1957; EMS Government of Kerala had done so many things and also started "Mavoor Rayons" by Birla. Due to water pollution of Mavoor Rayons; river water (Chaliyar) became polluted and nobody could use the water. Since then when we got chances to rule in Kerala; all efforts done to promote capitalism. Dange's step to co-operate with Congress was a part of that decision. In WB; the base to co-operate with Congress is based on this economic stand. (Please see my blogs; I will post) Since 2002; I am trying to change the "programme" and in 2005; I had published a book containing basic theories of Marxism; with a criticism on programme paras 6.2 and 6.5. Due to the publishing of the book; My membership denied by Party. We can see; since 1950s, Indian party is in stagnation. In WB, the quality of Jyoti Basu helped CPM to get in power. This helped due to the ruin of Congress. At the same time In Bihar; Lalu Prasad yadav; in UP - Mulayam; Andhra - Naidu; Tamilnadu - DMK; etc. In WB; there is no working class base; The peoples of WB those who voted CPM is now with TMC. Due to Singoor--Nandigram; our claim as a working class party lost; when Budhadeb declared that there is no other way; other than capitalism (2008).

Victory over fascism:9th May, 2015 is the 70th anniversary

Fri, May 8, 2015 at 3:11 AM
A big function in Aiwane Ghalib Hall Delhi
Dear friend,
As you know, 9th May, 2015 is the 70th anniversary of victory over fascism. In the era of aggressive march of international finance capital and multinational corporations to usurp the resources and markets all over the world, the emergence of neo-nazism, fascim and intolerance in various forms are being witnessed in different parts of the world. In India, we are witnessing the rise of communal forces of all kinds specially the Sangh Parivar forces of Hindutva majoritarianism being pushed aggressively terrorizing the minorities. With anti worker, anti peasant agenda as the priority of the Modi Govt., the attempts to crush the dissent, to belittle democratic institutions and increased intolerance to a different view points are very much being pushed as a part of the process.

In this background, our party is observing this 70th anniversary of victory over fascism. In Delhi, CPI and CPI(M) have organized a joint meeting on 9th May at 4:00 p.m. in Aiwane Ghalib Hall, Opp. Mata Sundari Gurduwara at Mata Sundari Road, Near Bal Bhawan.

Com. S. Sudhakar Reddy, General Secretary, CPI and Com. Sita Ram Yechuri, General Secretary, CPI(M) will address the meeting.

Please join us in the meeting.

Yours friendly,

(Amarjeet Kaur)
Secretary-CPI

Remember Please:9 May marks the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union in the part of the Second World War known in the Soviet Union as the Great Patriotic War where the Soviet Union fought against Nazi Germany. It was first inaugurated in the sixteen republics of the Soviet Union, following the signing of the surrender document late in the evening on 8 May 1945 (after midnight, thus on 9 May, by Moscow Time). The Soviet government announced the victory early on 9 May after the signing ceremony in Berlin. Though the official inauguration happened in 1945 (which means it has been celebrated since 1946), the holiday became a non-labour day only in 1965 and only in some of the countries.

In the former Soviet Union this festival was celebrated to commemorate the Red Army's victory over the Nazi forces.

VAT should be withdrawn on domestic gas, petrol and diesel

Sun, Jan 5, 2014 at 1:01 PM
MCPI (United) condemns the increase in the prices
Doraha5 Jan 214: (Punjab Screen Buureau):
Marxist Communist Party of India (United) in a statement has condemned the inappropriate and unabated increase in the prices of domestic Gas, Petrol and Diesel, thus burdening the common man and giving huge profits to the monopoly oil companies of the country when 80% of the population of the country is already poverty ridden. The price rise in these commodities will further increase the problems of the common man and those of the poverty ridden people. The party is of the view that the price rise will further worsen the country’s economy. M C P I (U) demanded the roll back of the price rise and to withdraw its policy of decontrol of domestic  gas, petrol and diesel and supply gas, petrol and diesel at subsidized rates to the consumers.
According to a statement released by the Secretary, State Committee, M C P I(U), Punjab; Comrade Pawan Kumar Kaushal party also demanded that Adhaar Card should not be made mandatory for the purpose of getting subsidy as the Supreme Court decision, secondly the subsidy must be given in cash instead of through the banks, because the consumer has to pay Rs.30 to 40 more than on the subsidized cylinder in the form of V A T. One has to waste time and daily to enquire about the subsidy that is a difficult job for a daily wage earner. The Party demanded that the respective governments  should withdraw V A T on domestic gas, petrol and diesel.

AITUC again exposed the anti peoples policies of UPA-2

Com Gurudas Das Gupta–MP was the main speaker
Ludhiana: 22 November 2013: (Rector Kathuria//Punjab Screen): The workers in our country have to meet dual challenge of saving the social fabric of the society by fighting against the communal & divisive forces as well as to save the country from economic onslaught by the multinational corporations, this was said by Com Gurudas Das Gupta–MP and General Secretary All Indian Trade Union Congress (AITUC) while addressing a convention here at Punjabi Bhawan today. The UPA-II Govt. is increasingly working in the interest of big corporate business houses of India and the international cartels undermining the national interest. Latest decisions of the Govt. are enough indicators of the rightist shift in the policies detrimental to Indian growth and progress based on justice and equality. These are against the basic spirit of the Indian constitution which speaks of justice and equality as its mainstay.  The Govt. is more inclined to respond to the demands of the international finance capital and the MNCs while hitting the common man hard, even denying them basic amenities like food, shelter, health and education. Therefore there is an urgent need for the working people to unite in strength to lead the struggle against these policies so as to meet the goal of sustainable development in the interest of all the people of the country, he said. On that score, the job insecurity and the job losses on the one hand and increased trends of contractorization and outsourcing,  contractualisation and casualisation of labour is norm of the day. There is attack on unionization itself and pressure on existing unions to suppress and intimidate them to contain their activities. Bringing in FDI  in retail trade will be big blow to more than 4 crore small traders, shopkeepers, marginal and poor farmers, other small producers of goods in home based and small scale industries etc. The government has been responsible for unprecedented rise in corruption at higher places with loss to national revenue and denial of rightful share of common people in the wealth being produced in the country. He further deplored that accumulation of wealth in the hands of few, whereas the vast majority is suffering under acute poverty and unemployment. The latest reports have indicated that 100 top rich families own assets to the tune of 16 lakh crores of rupees whereas 70% Indians are forced to live on meager spending of Rs.16.60 paise per day. With the policies being pursued will further hasten these gaps.

He said, the govt. continues to act in ruthless manner against the common people and the response to people’s agitations by the Prime minister and some of his ministers are arrogant to the core. Corruption at the higher places has become rampant which is obvious  from the scandal like 2-G Spectrum. The Gas price hike in connivance with the Ambanis will cost a loss of nearly 2.20 lakh crores to the exchequer, he highlighted.

Taking advantage of this situation the rabidly communal RSS and BJP have floated Modi as their Prime ministerial candidate. This is a very serious danger before the nation which the workers have to fight back tooth and nail.

In this background the Trade Unions have decided to intensify their joint agitations and march to Parliament on 12th December 2013 on the charter of demands which includes seeking check on price rise of essential commodities, end to labour law violations, for social security and pension to all workers, abolition of any ceiling on Provident Fund, gratuity and bonus, abolition of contract labour, steady regularization of them and equal pay for equal work, no disinvestment of public sector/ govt. sector enterprises and resources, national minimum wage to be raised to not less that Rs. 10,000, universal entitlement of maternity benefit to working women etc.

Addressing the gathering Com Bant Singh Brar - President  and Com Nirmal Dhaliwal - General Secretary of Punjab unit of AITUC said that the state govt. of Punjab is not following a different course as regards the economic policies in general are concerned. Rather it has been taking anti labour and anti farmer measures. They informed that several more conventions will be held in the state on these issues, where Com Gurudas Dass Gupta MP, General Secretary AITUC will address.

Today’s convention was attended by representatives of various organisations of workers and employees from Construction, Hosiery, Roadways, PRTC, Banks, Power sector, FCI Palledar, University, PSSF, Govt. Class 4 employees, Corporation, BSNL, ASHA workers  and unorganized sector.

Com Kartar Singh Bowani – Vice President Punjab Kisan Sabha also addressed the gathering.

Com O P Mehta General Secretary AITUC Ludhiana and Com D P Maur, General Secretary Joint Council of Trade Unions Ludhiana assured that they will participate in large number in the march to parliament at Delhi on 12th December 2013.
